Career Summary

Stan is BSG's Director of Enterprise
Services. Retail ERP and data warehouse
    solutions that support retail stores
continues to be a major source
challenge for retailers as they embrace new customer
service, marketing, and store operational practices in
today’s evolving markets. As lines between different
industry formats continue to blur between food,
grocery, specialty and general merchandise retailers,
the information needed to manage departments,
inventory and customer services is becoming
significantly more complex.

With the advent of new information channels with
social media and the informed consumer with the
market expectation for continuous product and brand
innovation, retailers are limited by the installed base
of ERP solutions and the challenges of modifying
existing code to deploy new IT solutions that address
the changes in the market place. Some of the more
common issues include: incompatible data models,
distributed databases and different interface
requirements, and incongruent refresh cycles.
Resolution of these is crucial to provide a single view
of customers and activities and processes across all
channels.

Experience

Stan brings over 30 years of hardware, software, and
system knowledge and experience in ERP solutions,
including SUN Microsystems, Oracle Corporation, and
network storage systems at StorageTek Corp. His keen
problem solving skills in databases and software
applications are highly valued by clients by solving
complex ERP data integrity and database access,
storage and retrieval system issues so they can
achieve that single view of the data across all
channels.

Prior to joining BSG, he managed, deployed and
customized ERP solutions for Oracle and Sun
Microsystems. While at Oracle he developed markets,
and serviced database and middleware software,
developed application software and hardware that was
designed for clients to manage and grow their
customers. During his time at Sun, he was a global
provider of network computing infrastructure solutions
that included computer systems, software, storage and
services. He also has several years as a regional Open
Systems SAN Specialist with StorageTek, where he
provided global clients data storage hardware and
software, and professional/support services.

We are especially excited about Stan’s qualifications
to help our clients in reengineering their fresh
categories where new found datasets in all fresh
categories challenge grocers implementing ERP
systems.  The reconsolidation of technology and data
(or feasibility of using distributed data in a centralized
way)  confounds retail IT professionals who have full
plates in managing infrastructure changes to
accommodate new web-services, other middleware and
exploring the advantages of cloud computing.
