Career Summary
Jack DeAlmo is a broadly skilled and seasoned executive, most recently from the retail drug industry, with more than 27 years of experience in store
operations, field operations, loss prevention, supply chain management, M&A integration, real estate, information systems implementation, and large-scale project management.
Jack has extensive experience in staff and executive development, organization change management, and pharmacy and regulatory affairs. He has been at the forefront in the retail industry’s evaluation and development of next–generation RFID technology, the Electronic Product Code (EPC), taking an early role in its continuing development, as well as in the EPC Global standard setting process.
Experience
Jack has held a number of senior management positions in both the drug retail and automotive aftermarket industries. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Inventory Management and Merchandise Operations at CVS Corporation. In this role he led the development and successful roll out of CVS’ first replenishment system, which improved sales while reducing customer complaints by 50%. During the same period he was CVS’ key executive in charge of its EPC/RFID development efforts. He also served as CVS’ Vice President of Loss Prevention and Field Audit where he implemented a more effective field organization and improved loss performance substantially in the first two years. During this period, h was a founding member and first Chairman of the Drug Industry Loss Reduction Team, a group that made collaborative EAS source tagging a reality in drug retailing.
Jack was also a CVS Area Vice President for Store Operations where he led the field organization through the Arbor Drug acquisition and the first year post acquisition period during a significant pharmacist shortage. In another role as Vice President Store Operations Support at CVS, he led the highly successful development and rollout of the company’s first point of sale system completing it in record time without a single store failure. During the same period he served as store operations lead on the Peoples and Revco chain acquisitions.
As Vice President of Supply Chain, Jack led CVS’ first complete supply chain re-engineering effort, which set the systems development direction for several years. Serving as Director of Property Management for CVS, he implemented the industry’s first landlord audit and real estate tax abatement programs saving the company millions in occupancy cost.
Prior to joining CVS, Jack held senior management roles in sales and marketing in the automotive aftermarket industry.
