    Career Summary

Bob Drury is a Senior Manager of BSG's
Distribution, Logistics, & IT Services in
    our end-to-end Supply Chain
    Management practice.  He has more
    than thirty-five years experience in
retail logistics, distribution, food manufacturing and
information technology management, with a proven
track record as a industry thought leader, strategist,
and turn around manager.

Experience

Prior to his retirement, Bob served as Senior Vice
President for Logistics, Manufacturing, & Information
Technology for Schnuck Markets, a major self
distributing Midwest retailer. In this position, he was
responsible for strategic planning, innovation and
delivery of a broad array of services in support of
retail operations.  These duties included direct
responsibility for all warehouse operations, private
fleet  management, internal manufacturing of a full
line of dairy and bakery products,  and delivery of all
corporate, support facility, and store level information
technology services.

Highlights of his IT work included an end to end re-
engineering of all financial, merchandising, and point
of sale systems based on open systems architecture,
implementation of real time Engineered Standards and
Interactive Voice Response systems to improve
productivity and accuracy in warehouse operations,
and an industry first, cell phone based GPS tracking of
the distribution fleet.  In 1995, Schnuck Markets was
recognized by Computer World Magazine as a Premier
100 Leader in Internet Technology for the
development of one of the first internet based, home
delivery systems in the US Retail Grocery industry.

From a logistics perspective, Bob was responsible for
the design and implementation of a multi-commodity,
multi-temperature, point of sale driven, paperless,
store order and delivery system, that increased the
frequency of store service, cut store order lead times
in half, and minimized back room inventories while
reducing the number of transport miles needed to
provide the service by over 15%.  In addition, he
managed the successful outsourcing of two major
warehouse operations.

Prior to joining Schnuck Markets, Bob was Chief
Information Officer at Pet Incorporated, a global, multi
billion dollar packaged food manufacturer. For
innovation in using the Electronic Data Interchange
Standards as a corporate data model for systems
development and software package integration, Pet
Incorporated was honored as a Premier 100
Information Technology Leader by Computer World in
1990.

Bob is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of
Engineering  at Washington University in St. Louis,
MO, where he lectures on End-to-End Supply Chain
Management.  He has also served as Chairman
Emeritus of the Center for the Study of Data
Processing at the same university.  In addition, he
also helped found the Consortium for Supply Chain
Management Studies at the John Cook School of
Business at St. Louis University.

Bob’s industry background includes a seat on the
Board of Governors of the Uniform Code Council,
Director of Efficient Consumer Response for the
Grocery Manufacturers of America (GMA), membership
on the Food Marketing Institute AMIS Committee, and
membership on Information Technology Committee of
GMA.
